Our Mission

The exclusive purpose of VALOR Retreat is to provide a free, recreational facility for combat veterans, their families and our Gold Star families in a tranquil environment to recover from the ravages of conflict, to heal and reconnect with nature, their families, and one another.

A Peaceful Setting

The retreat sits on a 24+ acre private reserve in Hocking Hills, Ohio, with access to adjacent properties and state park facilities. The property provides beautiful landscapes, abundant hiking trails, solitude, and is within a 10-minute drive from Old Man’s Cave, Ash Cave and Cedar Falls.  Our property includes a large barn, indoor riding arena, box stalls and extensive turn out areas.  It is our plan to make equine therapy available as we begin our construction phase to welcome our veterans to the property.

Our Goal

We plan to raise $2 Million for the construction of the retreat. Our goal is to construct four handicap-accessible cabins and a lodge by 2026. To help us make our vision a reality, please consider donating today.

Hocking Hills

Due to the abundance of unique Black Hand sandstone, weathering and natural erosion over millennia, incredible beauty can be found in the fantastic rock formations and scenic features all throughout the Hocking Hills area. The area is known locally for its beautiful trails, majestic waterfalls, and dramatic cliff faces. We feel that the Hocking Hills area provides a beautiful, tranquil setting for veterans to begin to heal from wounds, visible and invisible. Quiet, serene nighttimes and star-filled skies await those that visit this scenic backdrop.
